Flat Roofing
Green Roofs Membranes

In today's Built Environment, may developers, led by government legislation among other factors, are more and more having to consider the environmental impact of the structures they build and how if affects the environment in which it sits.

As the spaces in which we all live and work become more and more covered by development, Green roofs perform a vital role in helping cities adapt to the effects of climate change by reducing the need for artificial cooling in hot weather and attenuating or capturing rainwater runoff, as well as providing a range of habitats for urban wildlife

Existing roofs however, can also be converted into Green Roofs with the correct planning and expert advice.

In essence, Green Roofs or Living Roofs are partially or completely covered with vegetation and a growing medium planted over a waterproof membrane.

There are two types of Green Roof, Intensive Roofs, which are generally thicker and can support a wide variety of plants but can be heavier and require more maintenance and Extensive Roofs, which are generally shallower, lighter and require less maintenance than an Intensive Roof.

There are several finishes or planting solutions available on a Green roof such as, Sedum, Biodiverse, Wild Flower there is also a Modular system available for certain application.

We can install many of the major Green Roof systems on a Roofing Project and can match the system to one of our many Waterproofing solutions to ensure that we provide and install a complete Roofing solution to meet all of the Project requirements.

Our selection process will always incorporate a combination of design criteria, performance requirements and cost.  It is of course important to find a balance all three.
